Road construction season revving up in Monroe Co.

MONROE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) -

Road construction will pick up again in Monroe County this March.

Expect to see the barrels pop back up along US 23, between Sterns Rd. and 223.

The Michigan Dept. of Transportation is working on a slew of improvements, including pavement repairs, adding roundabouts to the interchange, and rebuilding the ramps at Sterns and Consear Roads.

Weather-permitting, the work should wrap up in the fall.

And that's not the only place in Monroe County you'll run into orange barrels.

Telegraph Road construction continues Monday.

They're working to resurface the road, and widen it to five lanes between Stewart and Lasalle roads.

Each direction will be down to one lane beginning Monday.

This project is expected to end in late October.

Davis normally does not mind cutting it himself.  "Just so that we don't look like we're living in some type of jungle or something," Davis said. However, recently the grass grew up to his knees.
