Chrysler reports best February since 2008

(Toledo News Now) -

It's good news overall for Chrysler, as the company is reporting strong sales, even record-breaking sales on some models for a February reporting period. However, the results are mixed for the Jeep brand.

Chrysler representatives say with the completion of the Jeep Liberty production late last year, along with the upcoming launch for the 2014 Grand Cherokee, total sales for Jeep dropped 16 percent. However, many models posted gains, including Compass up 36 percent, Patriot up 24 percent, and Wrangler up 8 percent.

According to the company, 139,015 units were sold in the U.S. alone, which is a sales increase of 4 percent from February 2012.

According to the report, the company says the real driving force behind its overall group sales in February was the Dodge brand. Dodge products saw nearly every vehicle gaining at least 21 percent. Some vehicles even set February records, including Avenger, Challenger, Journey, and the new Dart.
Company reps say this is the 35th straight month of sales gains. Overall, reports show this is the best February for Chrysler in five years.
