TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Local authorities conducted a successful annual sweep last week, seizing more than $89,000 worth of drugs and more than $26,000 in currency, as well as arresting more than 111 people.

Starting Feb. 20 and continuing through Feb. 22, the Toledo Police Department conducted "Operation Dirty Boy VI." This sweep is done annually in remembrance of Det. Keith Dressel, and other fallen TPD officers, who gave their lives in the line of duty.

During the operation, 39 search warrants were executed throughout Toledo. The total value of drugs seized was more than $89,000.

Authorities seized:

-20.5 grams of cocaine valued at $2,700
-12 firearms, including seven handguns and five long guns
-$26,353 in U.S. currency

As a result of the operation, 111 people were charged with a total of 94 felony and 66 misdemeanor offenses. There were also four felony warrants and 161 misdemeanor warrants served during the sweep.

A total of 100 traffic citations were issued.

The raids were carried out by:

-Toledo Police Vice Narcotics Unit
-Toledo Metro Drug Task Force Unit
-Toledo Police Gang Unit
-Toledo Police Department
-SWAT teams

The following organizations assisted in the raids:

-University of Toledo officers
-Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers
-FBI agents
-Drug Enforcement Administration agents
-Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents

"We want to keep the criminals on their toes. We showed that we can do this any time we want and that this isn't one annual thing. We have numerous gang operations, sweeps and also the task force does big operations several times during the year," said Capt. Brad Weis with the TPD.

Toledo police officers believe Dressel would be proud with the success in these ongoing efforts.
