Father, stepson fight leads to gunshots

MONROE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) -

An argument between a Temperance man and his stepson turned violent Saturday night.

According to Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone, deputies were dispatched around 10:53 pm, for a domestic violence incident in Bedford Township.

The caller, who lives on the 10000 block of Lewis Avenue, said her husband pointed a gun at her son.

According to the sheriff's office, preliminary investigations revealed the 68-year-old man pointed a handgun at his 42-year-old stepson during an argument.

The two men struggled over the gun, and multiple shots were fired during the fight.

No one was injured from the gun fire.

Investigators say the stepson was able to gain control of the handgun until deputies arrived.

The 68-year-old man was released pending an arrest warrant be issued.

He was admitted to a local hospital for an unrelated medical condition.

The incident is still under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff's Detective Bureau and deputies from the Uniformed Services Division.
