Restaurant Week kick-off held Thursday at The Blarney

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Restaurant Week kicked off Thursday night in Toledo at The Blarney downtown.

There are 27 locally-owned restaurants participating in the third annual event.

And Restaurant Week-goers are already praising it.

"I would definitely suggest coming out and trying all the different restaurants, because it's definitely worth it," said Gus Patrick, a Blarney patron. "You get to try all the different options…You get an appetizer, dessert, and a main course...a lot of good food for the price."

The Blarney has participated in past Restaurant Weeks, and they said it's always a success.

"We get to highlight the things that we're most popular for," said Manager Jennifer Elliot. "You see people come from places…that normally they wouldn't come from."

Restaurant Week is presented by Medical Mutual, and 10 percent of all proceeds go to local non-profit Leadership Toledo.

The featured restaurants will have set menus for the event, with meals ranging from $10-30.

"[The restaurants] have a great time with it because it brings new customers into their restaurants, trying these meals," said Cory Dippold, Associate Executive Director of Leadership Toledo. "It's great for the customers because they get a great price on these meals, and it's also great for Leadership Toledo, because it supports our mission."
