Innocent mother caught in crossfire of Cleveland gun battle

A 45-year-old mother caught in the crossfire of a gun battle in Cleveland.

The deadly shooting happened Wednesday night around 10:30 p.m. on Amesbury Avenue.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner has identified the victim as Valetta Martin.

The preliminary investigation reveals Martin was a victim of crossfire as a result of two unknown men shooting at one another. No suspect description is available.

EMS rushed Martin to MetroHealth Medical Center, where she died as a result of her injuries. Martin sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
