LUCASVILLE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

On Tuesday, two traffic stops in Ohio's Scioto County approximately an hour apart, yielded cocaine, heroin and illegal prescription pills.

At 8 p.m. troopers stopped a 2001 Cadillac with Ohio registration for speed and marked lanes violations on U.S. Route 23 southbound, near milepost 5. Troopers saw the rear-seat passenger grab an object and hide it between his legs under a coat. A protective sweep was conducted and revealed 1,004 Oxycodone pills, worth approximately $24,100.

Driver, Steven T. Washington, 25, and passenger, Dennis G. Hurd, 56, both of South Point, OH, along with passenger, William D. Whitfield, 28, of Huntington, WV, were incarcerated in the Scioto County Jail.

They are all charged with possession of a schedule II substance, which is a first-degree felony. If convicted, each could face up to 10 years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine.

Roughly an hour later, at 9:15 p.m. troopers stopped a 2012 Ford Fusion with Michigan registration for a marked lanes violation on US-23, near milepost 10. Criminal indicators were observed. Further investigation revealed the female occupant was concealing 2 ounces of cocaine and 2 ounces of heroin. The estimated value of the contraband is $13,100.

The driver, James D. Crocker, 33, and passenger, Dicey D. Deselle, 21, both of Detroit, MI, were incarcerated in the Scioto County Jail.

They are charged with two counts of possession of drugs, which are first-degree felonies. If convicted, they could each face up to 20 years in prison and up to a $40,000 fine.
