The driver who hit and killed a construction worker along I-90 was sentenced on Tuesday.

Anthony Rose pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter and following too closely. The most he could face behind bars was 90 days because both of the charges are misdemeanors.

Rose got 90 days, but the judge suspended 85 of them, so he will spend five days in jail. Rose was also sentenced to pay a $900 fine and serve 200 hours of community service. His license was also suspended.

The September crash was a simple fender bender that turned deadly. According to police, Rose was following another car too closely. He hit it, sending his car out of control and into a closed construction zone where 63-year-old Peter Magklis was hit and killed.
