Findlay accepting applications for 5-day pre-school

FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Findlay school district is taking applications for their first every 5-day pre-school program.

The program is set to take place inside Washington Intermediate School. Some of the caretakers will be students from the Millstream Career Center, specializing in early childhood education.

There will be two class sessions every day, but only for a half day. Classes will promote different learning technology, including digital cameras, smartboards, and even iPads.

Parents will need to provide transportation for students.

A screening will take place in March, but no enrolment will be guaranteed at that time.

Classes will cost parents $90 per month, but they may be able to get reimbursed.

"If they stay with the school district, at that point they would be able to get some reimbursement back in the next two years," explained Findlay Superintendent Dean Wittwer.

The district is looking to fill 20-30 spots in the class. Those seats are open to students outside the district, as well.
