TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - A pursuit by Toledo police ended with the driver's vehicle crashing into a house on River Road in south Toledo around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The driver, 32-year-old Scott Gorsuch, is now in police custody. He's been arrested for fleeing and eluding, felonious assault on a police officer, vandalism, criminal damaging, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and three traffic violations.

It began as a routine traffic stop near Buckingham and Junction in Toledo, according to police.

Officers had Gorsuch pulled over and noticed he was acting "jumpy." They asked him to get out of the car but had to struggle with him to get out of the vehicle.

Once out, Gorsuch managed to get back inside the car and flee the scene, police say. He hit one officer and several police vehicles when he fled. That officer was taken to the hospital with back pain. He is expected to be OK.

At one point, the chase went through the 2300 block of Airline. Officers say he then jumped a curb and went through a yard, almost hitting a house. He then hit a fence but was able to get back onto the street where the chase continued.

Police say the chase ended when Gorsuch did crash into a home at 3450 River Road. No one in the home was hurt.

The entire pursuit lasted 10 to 15 minutes.
