TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Multiple house fires have been sparking overnight in east Toledo over the past two weeks.

A vacant home on 5th Street even caught on fire twice. A fire broke out before midnight Saturday.

A two-story house on Navarre Avenue caught fire around 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Firefighters say the house has only been vacant for a week.

Investigators are also looking into another suspicious fire that happened to a vacant home in the 500 block of Spring Grove Jan. 21 around 5:30 a.m. According to a neighbor, the house has been vacant for a few months and was actually up for sale.

Toledo fire crews battled a blaze at a vacant apartment building on 5th Street twice in one night. The first fire was called in around 8:30 p.m. Jan. 13, and crews worked until after 11 p.m. to extinguish the flames. The second fire was then called in around 2:30 a.m. Jan. 14, and crews worked through the morning to put out the blaze.

The causes of these fires are under investigation, but fire investigators believe it could be arson.
