Friendly's 32nd annual 'Cones for Kids' campaign starts this week

WILBRAHAM, MA (WSHM/AP) -

Friendly's Ice Cream, LLC is launching its 32nd annual ‘Cones for Kids' campaign this week. The fundraiser will benefit 30 Easter Seals Camp Friendly's programs.

It raised $460,000 last year and more than $27 million during its entire history.

The camps give kids with disabilities a chance to be part of regular camp activities.

"I loved meeting new people… and being in the dorm. It was a really fun time," said Sean Tetrault from Holyoke.

"I have several favorite experiences...swimming...fishing...I caught a catfish last year," said Ana Ascher from Florence.

For every dollar donated...Friendly's will give restaurant-goers five Valentine's day cards with redeemable Friendly's kids cones, and a buy-one-get-one free adult entrée certificate.

The campaign runs through Feb. 14.
