Family seeks help finding missing Fremont man

FREMONT, OH (Toledo News Now) – Damon Scott was last seen by his mother last Sunday.

Scott, 38, suffers from schizophrenia and seizures and hasn't been able to take his medication since he disappeared without notice and with nothing more than the clothes on his back.

"He's my first child," said Scott's mother Connie. "He's been a very smart individual all through school, good kid when he was little, never had any problems. He's never done anything like this before."

Scott's sister Devon said she is concerned because he has a history of mental illness. The mother of his three children was killed in a car accident six years ago, and Devon said Scott has not been the same since.

His family has contacted the Fremont Police, and officers have conducted searches along the Sandusky River. The family has searched areas Scott has been known to frequent, including bike paths and fields near his apartment, but have found no sign of him. They remain positive, though.

"I believe when all of this blows down and he finally surfaces, he's going to call me," Scott's father William said.

"We're keeping a positive attitude and mind because that's all that keeps us going and if we start thinking the worst, then it may be the worst," Connie added. "Right now, he's going to be found. Someone is going to see this, or he is going to see this, and we're going to find him."

Anyone with information on Scott's whereabouts is asked to call Fremont Police at 419-332-6464.
