Oregon Police searching for suspects in Kmart theft

OREGON, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Oregon Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying two suspects on surveillance video.

Police say the two suspects jumped over the layaway counter in an employee-only area at Kmart on Jan. 2 and made their way to the stock room. There, the men stole various items from the store, according to a post on the Oregon Ohio Police Division's Facebook page.  Police say employees and security were in the store, but no one noticed them.

"The people came in during the day while they were open for business, and entered a secured area of the store. While in that secured area, they were able to get into a fenced-in area where they stole property from that area, and they were able to get out of the store undetected," said Det. Randy Jacobs.

According to police, the men got away with electronics.

Police say since posting the video within the last 24-hours, they may already have a lead. Anyone who recognizes the men in the video is asked to call Oregon Police Det. Randy Jacobs at 419-698-7069.
