Sheriff: Murder-suicide suspected in 2 Henry County deaths

PLEASANT TOWNSHIP, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - Henry County Sheriff Michael Bodenbender says his office is investigating a murder-suicide that happened Monday morning in Pleasant Township.

Bodenbender says deputies found 47-year-old Timothy Brown and his 10-year-old daughter dead in a car on County Road 16.

Both brown and his daughter are from Manatee County, Florida. The sheriff says Florida police tell him Brown and his wife were involved in a custody fight. They also say Brown recently took his daughter from her home in Florida.

The two have family near New Bavaria in Henry County, but Bodenbender says Brown had not contacted them.

He says it's unclear when the murder-suicide happened. However, he is confident on how the two died.

"There is no suspect. Every indication is that it was a murder-suicide. We did a thorough investigation and it doesn't appear there was anyone else involved," explained Bodenbender.

Officials say they believe the two died from gunshot wounds. Autopsies are currently in progress.
