LIVINGSTON, LA (WAFB) -

After the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office received narcotics-related complaints about a home in the 17000 block of J.B. Averett Road in Livingston, LA, two arrests were made.

During the investigation, detectives smelled marijuana within the home. A search of the home led to the discovery of two marijuana plants growing in a machine that produced water and lighting to the plants. Detectives also found one marijuana plant growing in a bucket with water and lighting.

Cary Caruso, Sr., 44, and his 19-year-old son Derek Caruso were both arrested and charged with cultivation of schedule 1 CDS.

Both have bonded out of the Livingston Parish Detention Center. Bond was set at $100,000 for each inmate.

If convicted, each could face a sentence of up to 30 years in jail.
