Horseshoe Casino begins 2nd phase of hiring

Horseshoe Cincinnati has launched the second formal phase of its recruiting initiatives as the casino prepares a new 1,700 member workforce for its spring 2013 opening.

More than 45 unique job descriptions, which will require about 400 new casino workers, are being posted Friday at www.HorseshoeCincinnati.com. Horseshoe Cincinnati has committed to hire at least 90 percent of its workforce from the Cincinnati metropolitan area.

Candidates are currently being sought for several roles in accounting, finance, facilities, slots, security and Total Rewards.  In addition to those operational positions, the casino is also seeking about a dozen culinary leaders including accomplished chefs, sous chefs, and restaurant managers to operate the property's in-house dining and banquet venues. Recruiting for cooks, servers, and other food and beverage positions will begin in December.

"Some newly posted positions require previous experience, but for many roles, a strong desire to deliver superior customer service with a positive and upbeat attitude is the main quality we will be looking for," said Lisa Rexroat-Steele, the casino's vice president of Human Resources.  "Interested job candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as postings will be removed once the requisite number of applicants has been identified to move forward," she added.  Online applications accompany all job descriptions and candidates must be:

  • At least 21 years old at the time of application;
  • A high school graduate, or possess a GED equivalent;
  • Able to provide prior work history; resumes are not required but may be helpful in the screening process;
  • Flexible to work nights, weekends and holidays;
  • Willing to submit to and successfully complete all pre-employment requirements including a criminal background check, drug test and regulatory licensing requirements.
