UMG looking to hire 150 new employees

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - The Universal Marketing Group is looking to hire around 150 people. Employees at the UMG call center handle calls from across the country from people watching infomercials.

"We're 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year we're open. So, anybody looking for a position we have a spot for them," said Greg Borer, UMG recruiting manager.

Universal Marketing Group is a call center located on Airport Highway. The company was started by two Sylvania businessmen less than ten years ago. UMG has continued to steadily grown in that time and currently employees upwards of 150 people.

"We're one of many call centers around the country competing for our clients phone calls, and our performance has dictated throughout time that we can do a better job of handling their phone calls so they're willing to send us more and more calls all the time so we're looking for more reps to help out with that," said Borer.

"We're going to have jobs for them year-round. We anticipate business to be picking up and stay steady year-round. We have seasonal available, but for people looking for full-time work throughout the year, we have that available to them as well," said Borer.

The company is looking to hire immediately to get ready for their boost in calls around the Christmas and New Year's Eve holidays. Jobs are available for all shifts.

    Construction is now underway for one of the first medicinal marijuana facilities in the Gibsonburg area. The Standard Wellness Company was awarded one of Ohio's cultivation licenses for medicinal marijuana. Their location is in Gibsonburg, Ohio, as many local municipalities voted to keep facilities out, Gibsonburg wanted the industry.
