Miller Ferry shuts down due to weather

PORT CLINTON, OH (Toledo News Now) - The Miller Ferry, which runs from Port Clinton to Put-in-Bay and Middle Bass Island, has suspended operations due to conditions on the lake.

The Jet Express to Put-in-Bay ended operations for the season Sunday.    That leaves those wishing to travel to and from the island without a ferry for the time being.

As of Monday afternoon, waves of 7 to 9 feet were being reported on Lake Erie.  Areas off the shoreline near Port Clinton could see waves as high as 15 feet Monday evening through Tuesday afternoon.  Conditions are expected to return to normal Tuesday evening.
