Mother, daughter held at gunpoint in home

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - A mother and her daughter were held at gun point in their home Wednesday evening. It happened on the 3000 block of Cottage in north Toledo.

The mother of the daughter did wish to be identified but she said she heard her daughter calling her name.

"He grabbed her by her hair. He grabbed her by her hair and he had the gun pointed toward her," said the mother.

According to police, a masked man came up behind her daughter, put a gun to her head and forced her up the stairs.

The woman said her daughter then hit the man's arm with the gun away and they both ran into separate rooms to hide.

"All I kept think about is, I'm about to die.  I know God had me and my daughter. If it wasn't for God, me and my daughter wouldn't be living to this day," said the mother.

The mother barricaded herself in a room pushing a couch against the door. Her daughter called the police from the other room.

The suspect fired some rounds into the door before getting away.
