Two Gamecocks honored by SEC after clobbering Georgia

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Two University of South Carolina players have been honored by the Southeastern Conference for their performances in a 35-7 win over Georgia Saturday night.

Ace Sanders takes home the title of Co-Special Team Player Of The Week after a dazzling 70-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first quarter that put the Gamecocks up 21-0.

It was the 5'9" 175 pounder's second career punt return for a touchdown.

Offensive Lineman Of The Week was T. J. Johnson. The 6' 6" 319 pound center graded out at 86 percent against Georgia with seven knockdowns and no quarterback pressures.

The Gamecocks amassed 230 yards rushing and 162 yards passing against the Bulldogs.

South Carolina had just four loss yardage plays (-13 yards) on 61 snaps against Georgia including one sack (-9 yards).

The Gamecocks travel to Baton Rouge to take on LSU Saturday night at 8 p.m. The game is on ESPN.
