WTOL Editorial: Toledo Lucas County Public Library continuing to benefit community

Every dollar invested in the Toledo Lucas County Public Library generates more than $3 worth of community benefit!

Here's how those benefits are delivered:  you and your friends now use the library to get  help finding a job, apply for a grant, hone your computer skills, check your e-mail, research your family roots, download music, hold a community meeting, take your kids or grandkids to story time.

That's real, tangible, everyday value.  In fact, a recent economic impact study declared this to be "GREAT ECONOMIC VALUE THAT BENEFITS EVERYONE."

Here are some facts about delivering on promises; Last year, nearly 3 million visitors walked through our doors and we circulated 7.2 million Library materials and hosted more than 3,900 programs.

More than 18,000 children and adults participated in the annual Summer Reading Club and nearly 4,500 students were helped at our Homework Centers.

You have trusted us with your valuable tax dollars.  You ask more of your library than ever before, and, just like always, your library delivers.  We are still everything you remember us for, and now we are so much more.

We need your continued support to help sustain our vibrant, respected and active Library system. Thank you for recognizing your Library as important for your own life and future generations

The recent decision of ProMedica's Board of Trustees to enter into a transfer agreement with Capital Care Network, Toledo's last remaining abortion facility, just doesn't make sense.
