TOLEDO, OH ( Toledo News Now) - Officials with the Ohio Casino Control Commission say they have seen several cases of cheating since Ohio's first two casinos opened in May.
The state expected and was prepared that not everyone who walked through doors had honest intentions.
" They pull the chips off the table surreptitiously and then someone buys in at a higher amount later and then brings the chips back on the table so you can take a dollar or a five dollar chip and turn it into a 25 dollar chip," said Karen Huey, Director of Enforcement for Casino Control Commission.
A dealer at Hollywood Casino was indicted, charged with placing fraudulent wagers for another man at a craps table he was working at, leaving the casino control commission very disappointed.
"Obviously we license gaming employees at the casino so this will not only be a criminal offense but this will also potentially result in a license revocation, potentially," said Huey.
Laura Biel is a frequent gamer at Hollywood Casino and does not want cheaters taking her winnings.
"Just like people who cheat on taxes or cheat on anything, you are taking money out of the next person's pocket," said Biel.
Toledo's and Cleveland's casinos have gaming agents on the floor around the clock and surveillance cameras that monitor every move.
"We have consistently warned the would-be cheaters that our BCI gaming agents, working under the casino control commission, were all highly trained to spot casino crooks," said Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine.
DeWine states that because of the measures the casino takes, cheaters should think twice before entering the casino.
