SYLVANIA TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) – A reward of $2,000 is now available to anyone who can help solve a Sylvania Township man's murder.

Darryl Stipes, 60, was found dying on his porch in late June.

Police are reaching out to the public again for any information that could help police find answers in the case. Now they have a reward to back up the plea.

What police do know is that Stipes called 911 after he had been shot. He told the dispatcher two men wearing hoodies had shot him. Stipes was rushed to the hospital, where he was later declared dead.

An autopsy revealed three bullets hit him.

About a month after his death, Stipes' friends and family put together a fundraiser in his memory. They collected $2,000 and hope it will motivate someone to come forward and help solve their loved one's murder.

"My uncle was a great man. He did a lot of charity work himself, and it was definitely noticed during the charity event we held. For the family and all his friends, this is the right thing to do. If it was one of us, he would be forward making things happen for us," said Ric Anger, Stipes' nephew.

Anyone with information can call Sylvania Township Police at 419-882-2055.
