TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) – The Office of the Lucas County Coroner Tuesday announced that it had been determined that the young boy found dead in an east Toledo freezer last April was the child of Kenisha Pruitt and Antonio Cervantes, who lived in the home.
The coroner had previously determined that the child was born alive, but released for the first time Tuesday that the child's cause of death was "ligature strangulating and submersion in water". The coroner determined the child's death was a homicide.
Police said a landlord who was cleaning out the couple's Paine Avenue home on Friday, April 13 discovered the infant's body. The infant was wrapped in a garbage bag and was frozen solid.
