VIDEO: Meteor caught on tape over Ohio skies

(TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - Sky watching blogs are lighting up Friday morning after video of a meteor was posted on YouTube.

People in Ohio started tweeting around 10 p.m. Thursday.

The meteor appears in the top right corner of the screen from about 7 seconds into the video through 11 seconds into the video.

Watch the video through a YouTube link.

Kathy from Willoughby Hills, OH described it as a bright ball with a green tail. She said it came from the south and disappeared over Lake Erie.

Another blogger from Wooster, OH also saw it.

A news story on Thursday was about a very big asteroid that was going to skim by the earth. That was expected to happen around 8 p.m. We don't know if the two events were related.
