Man robs Toledo store in 'Scream' movie mask

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Toledo Police are looking for a suspect who robbed a convenience store in a mask similar to the one known from the "Scream" movies.

It happened just after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Stop and Shop on Dorr Street near Reynolds Road, just before closing time.

Surveillance video gives a first glimpse of the suspect lurking just outside the store's entrance. The suspect is there for a while, plotting the next move. Then he walked inside and headed straight to the back of the store, stopping in front of a refrigerator. That is where he appeared to tie on a white mask, similar to the one in the movie "Scream." The suspect approached the counter and pulled out a knife, demanding money from the clerk.

The suspect then fled with the cash. No one was hurt during the robbery.

Ranesha Jones lives near the Stop and Shop. Jones and her kids go to the store often.

"I think it's a shame," said Jones. "I think it's sad. It's just getting bad the way everywhere with the economy being what it is."

Police are still looking at surveillance video to try and identify the suspect. Anyone with information can call the Toledo Police.
