TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) – On Wednesday nights, an unofficial bike night takes over the area of Douglas and Sylvania near El Camino, and the sounds of music and motorcycles revving takes over.
Residents in the area say they are tired of the noise, and they want something done about it.
Participants in the outdoor partying, however, say they aren't doing anything wrong.
El Camino does not sponsor the event, and says those involved know about it through word-of-mouth.
An employee from El Camino says they do get complaints, but they try to be respectful.
"We have our fair share of complaints out here, but like I said, we keep the music down, the DJ's out of here by 11 o clock, and the bikes usually respect everybody else, and we keep it safe out here," said Klint Sharp, a member of El Camino security.
There is a noise ordinance in the city of Toledo, but the average motorcycle does not go over the limit. Continued revving of the engine is considered a ticketable offence.
