Hollywood Casino doing well after 2 weeks

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Hollywood Casino Toledo held its grand opening two weeks ago, and VP of Marketing Jason Birney says it's so far so good.

"Two weeks in and we've seen over 250,000 visitors come through the doors. The action hasn't stopped," Birney said, adding that includes plenty of action at the restaurants inside the casino.

"Tuesday, last night we did over 150 in our Final Cut Steakhouse, we're seeing people respond they like the meals. Our Epic Buffet people are coming through the course of the day enjoying a nice lunch," said Birney.

The casino is receiving feedback by way of e-mail and Facebook, and for the most part Birney says it's been positive.

"Some of the comments, it's a little cold in here, things like that it goes with volume. We're addressing those issues. Outside of that everybody seems to be having great feedback for us, comparing us to Detroit and Cleveland and we like what we're hearing," Birney explained.

While the casino is now just starting to get into its groove for normal operations, Birney says some additions are in the works.

"You're going to see us add some slot machines onto the floor shortly. We're going through the process to potentially add 37 more machines to the floor in some open areas we have available. We're looking at adding some stations where people can pick up a quicker bite to eat, a hot dog or a piece of pizza, things like that. More beverage stations throughout the casino floor ," said Birney.

The help wanted sign also remains up.

"There's still opportunity out there. We're still looking for people within the food and beverage departments, our player services area, there's definitely opportunity there," Birney explained.

You can find more information about those jobs here.
