Toledo clerk to face judge over shooting death of alleged robber

TOLEDO, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - Bandar Abu-Karsh is scheduled to face a judge Wednesday for charges that he shot and killed an accused robber while working as a carryout clerk in north Toledo.

The court date is for a pre-trial hearing. Abu-Karsh  has pleaded not guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

He was working in the Express Carryout when police report two men came in to rob the place. Investigators say Abu-Karsh shot 25-year-old Lamar Allen. They believe he then chased Joseph Hunter out of the store.

Prosecutors say Abu-Karsh then went back inside and fired more shots at Allen, killing him.

Hunter has since been convicted of involuntary manslaughter, attempted murder, felonious assault and aggravated robbery.
