Northwest Signal: Juvenile escapes court, leads Napoleon police on chase

NAPOLEON, OH (NORTHWEST SIGNAL) - City and county law enforcement were led on a short pursuit Wednesday afternoon when a 17-year-old male juvenile escaped from the Henry County Courthouse.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office reported at approximately 1:45 p.m., the juvenile ran out of the east door of the courthouse toward Rick's Sports Bar.

Deputies from the Henry County Sheriff's Office and Napoleon Police Department officers pursued the juvenile who, despite being shackled and cuffed, continued to run south toward the recycling center located at the corner of Riverview Avenue and Perry Street.

Officers and deputies managed to set up a perimeter around the recycling center and the subject was apprehended by the Napoleon Police Department a short time later.

A few minutes after apprehension, a squad was called to the Henry County Sheriff's Office for the juvenile, who the sheriff's office reported was claiming injury. The juvenile was not transported.

The sheriff's department reported the juvenile will be charged with escape, a felony of the third degree.
