TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Toledo City Council has approved two contract agreements with members of AFSCME Local 2058. Union members approved the deals on Monday.
The union represents 225 technicians, supervisors and mid-level management. 6 9-1-1 supervisors are covered under a separate contract.
Health care coverage will remain the same, while pension pick-ups will be reduced, with the city's contribution to employee retirement plans will be reduced from 8.5% to 5% in July, and from 5% to 2% in March 2013.
In exchange, affected employees will receive a one-time lump sum payment of $1,250. Wages are frozen until June, 2013, when wages will increase by 2%, with another 2% increase in June 2014.
