Toledo city council approves internet cafe license fees

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Toledo City Council has approved new license fees for internet cafes operating within the city limits.

The measure calls for each location to pay $5,000 per year for a license, as well as $200 per year for each computerized sweepstakes terminal.

Councilman Mike Collins says adjustments were made to his original proposal, with provisions for spacing requirements and restricting hours of operation being removed from the legislation before it was approved.

Collins says he hopes the city takes the money raised and places it into the city's budget stabilization fund.
