'Kid Spot' dedicated at north Toledo park

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Toledo Mayor Mike Bell, joined by students from Spring Elementary, dedicated the "Kid Spot" at George E. Bush park Tuesday.

The neighborhood park is located at the corner of Stickney and Ashwood. The Kid Spot is a new playground area that was built and features all new equipment.

Bell talked to the kids about the history of the neighborhood and how back in the 1960s Bush encouraged students to do well in school.

"And the way he would motivate. He'd give you ice cream," said Bell.

The kids got to experience that reward. There were ice cream trucks on hand to give the students a treat as the school year comes to a close.
