TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) – On Saturday and Sunday, June 2 and 3, WTOL11 hosted the Children's Miracle Network telethon. The event raised $588,000 for sick children and their families.
"[The money will fund] programs and services that wouldn't be covered by insurance. Mercy Children's is dedicated to providing care regardless of anyone's ability to pay. So all those funds help really support that mission and help support programs and services," said Nicole Downey of Mercy Children's Hospital in Toledo.
Mercy Children's Hospital treats thousands of children each year, and the money will also pay for programs at their autism clinic.
