TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) – WTOL11 will host a telethon to benefit the Mercy Children's Hospital and the Children's Miracle Network on Saturday and Sunday June 2 and 3.
Mercy Children's has joined forces with WTOL11, to broadcast seven-and-a-half full hours of telethon coverage. Chrys Peterson, Jerry Anderson, Jonathan Walsh, Chris Vickers, Robert Shiels, Emilie Voss and others will host as we share stories of hope and courage featuring Miracle Children from Mercy Children's Hospital as well as segments from around the globe.
"The CMN Telethon for Mercy Children's is a great opportunity to recognize the accomplishments and generosity of our national and local sponsors, to recognize those who care for our children, raise awareness of the programs and services performed at Mercy Children's, and raise support for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals at Mercy Children's Hospital," said Misty Stroupe of the Mercy Children's Hospital Foundation.
Five Miracle Families will be highlighted this year, and their stories will talk about the exceptional care that is provided at Mercy Children's in areas such as Pediatric Surgery, Autism Services, the Myelo Clinic, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric ICU, General Pediatrics, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and more.
The Mercy Children's patient families that will be featured are:
- The Rine Family
- The Fogle Family
- The Coleman Family
- The McKenzie Family
- The Beemer Family
Physicians from Mercy Children's Hospital also will be featured during the telethon broadcast.
Children's Miracle Network Hospitals is a national affiliation for Mercy Children's, and it is important to note that funds raised in our area stay in our area – to support programs and services that are critical to pediatric care at our hospital.
