TOLEDO, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - Tarek Elkafrawi is scheduled to appear in court Thursday. Prosecutors say he's the mastermind behind a regional scheme to steal money from several IHOP restaurants.
Elkafrawi owned seven IHOP franchises that were at the center of federal raids. A grand jury indicted him on felony charges last week. That 64-count indictment claims Elkafrawi was behind the plan to steal more than $3 million.
The court appearance is for a detention hearing.
