SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) – Sylvania Southview High School was on lock down for a short period of time Wednesday morning due to a misunderstanding.
Police say two young men were walking across the street from the school with a BB gun. Someone in the neighborhood called police believing it was a real gun.
Upon hearing radio traffic about a possible weapon near the school, a Sylvania Police School Resource Officer inside Southview placed the school on lock down. When Sylvania and Sylvania Township police arrived at the scene minutes later and discovered there was no danger, the lock down was lifted.
Police believe no one was ever in danger at the school.
