Agreements with former IHOP owner terminated

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Dine Equity, the franchiser of IHOP restaurants said it has terminated its franchise agreement with Toledo's Tarek Elkafrawi.

A 64-count indictment claimed Elkafrawi was the mastermind behind a scheme to steal more than $3 million from IHOP corporate and the state of Ohio.

Dine Equity has placed new management teams at the seven restaurants Elkafrawi owned and managed. However, the Findlay location has been closed.
