Sylvania community holds 'Benefit for Braxton'

SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) - Sylvania residents gathered at the Moose Lodge for a fundraiser for the family of a 4 month old boy with Menkes disease.

His name is Braxton Alexander Lee Tyler. He was diagnosed last month with Menkes disease. Menkes disease is a rare genetic disorder that can cause mental deficiencies.

The benefit featured a spaghetti dinner and silent auction to raise money for the family's mounting medical bills. Braxton has been receiving treatment at the Cleveland Clinic. His mother states he receives two injections a day and has been doing better.

Donations can be made in his name at any Fifth Third bank.
