OSHP investigating bike versus truck fatal accident in Ottawa Co

TOLEDO, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal crash that happened on Saturday just before 7:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Motel and RV Camping on SR 163 in Ottawa County.

Police say 71-year-old David A. Rhine of Lima was driving eastbound in the parking lot of the motel when 55-year-old Wendy Bollenbacher of Clyde, riding her bicycle, lost control, fell off the bike, and landed under the tires of Rhine's pickup truck before being ran over.

Bollenbacher was taken to the hospital, but later died.

Rhine was not injured.

Bollenbacher is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.

No one has been cited in the crash.
