TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - A Toledo murder suspect may be on his way to Kentucky. Louisville TV station WDRB is reporting Thomas Ellison Jr. could be in the area.
The station reports Det. Todd Hollis with the Jeffersonville, Ky. Police Department says officers there have received notice to be on the lookout for Ellison. He also says the department has been in contact with Toledo Police.
Ellison is being sought for questioning in connection with the killing of his girlfriend, who was found slain Thursday in her duplex in the 3100 Block of Parkwood Avenue.
Toledo Police say the 24 year old Ellison is 'a person of interest' in the murder of his girlfriend Jazmon Hoskins.
Ellison reportedly led authorities to the duplex after calling 911, alerting dispatchers he killed Hoskins.
"We need to see what Thomas Ellison knows about this. If, in fact, it was him who called us" according to Sgt. Joe Heffernan of the Toledo Police Department.
The neighborhood is stunned by the killing. Residents remember Hoskins as a sweet woman with a young daughter who kept to herself.
"She didn't hang out with us, come sit on the front porch or whatever. She was a neighbor. We looked out for her. Didn't know we looked out for her but on this block we look out for all our neighbors" says resident Ann Strong-Jaynes.
What happened in the neighborhood is being described as a senseless tragedy because of who it happened to.
"My heart goes out to her family. The whole neighborhood is praying for her. We're praying for her family" adds Ms. Strong-Jaynes.
Toledo Police have issued an all points bulletin for Ellison. He's driving a 2010 gray Ford Focus.
Anyone spotting him is asked to call 911.
