Toledo, OH (Toledo News Now) – Toledo police have made several arrests after investigating a string of armed robberies that took place in west Toledo.
Police say the robberies happened at the Circle K on Tremainsville Road and In-and-Out Marts on Douglas and Lewis.
Three people are currently under arrest, and more could be arrested soon. Two of those in custody are relatives, and they are all in connection with the string of robberies that have left west Toledo business owners terrified.
The most recent robbery happened early Tuesday morning at the Circle K on Tremainsville Road. A suspect pointed a gun at the clerk, and got away with $60. Toledo News Now cameras were rolling after police stopped a car driven by William Kiser and Alysia White. Police say they found a mask, hoodie and handgun inside.
Kiser and White were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. The investigation then led police to the Crown Inn on Alexis.
Toledo police broke into a room and took several people for questioning in connection with the Circle K and armed robberies at two nearby In-and-Out Marts.
"I'm not really that surprised with the bunch of characters that was over there," said Aimee Michaux, who witnessed the arrests.
Police arrested 27 year old Kasey Kiser late Tuesday. Police say they've tied him to a Monday afternoon robbery at the In-and-Out on Douglas. Police say they believe he pointed a silver handgun at a clerk.
"It's a real violation. They're here working doing their job and to be put through something like that is very traumatic," said In-and-Out Manager Tom Jensen.
Police are still investigating if any of the suspects are responsible for a similar robbery at the In-and-Out on Lewis that took place around 8 a.m. Monday, calling the investigation a priority as they work to put west Toledo business owners at ease.
