Baby falcons to get tagged in northwest OH

The Ohio Division of Wildlife will band some 3-week-old peregrine falcon chicks Monday with state and federal identification bands. It includes those living in UT's bell tower.

(TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - The Ohio Division of Wildlife will band some 3-week-old peregrine falcon chicks Monday with state and federal identification bands.

At 10 a.m., wildlife workers will band chicks in Lima at the square.

At 2 p.m., they will band chicks nesting in the University of Toledo's bell tower.

There are 36 known falcon nesting sites throughout Ohio, according to the Ohio Division of Wildlife. They have been spotted on tall city buildings, bridges, steel manufacturing companies, grain processors and power plants. There are live web cams available for two locations including one in Bowling Green.
