BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) – Nathan Brenner, of Liberty Center, OH, was indicted on charges of murder, involuntary manslaughter and two counts of child endangering in the death of a Bowling Green 2-year-old.
Police say Emma Zehnpfenning was taken to the Wood County Hospital on February 22 by an acquaintance of her mother. The child was unresponsive when she arrived at the hospital. Emma was then transferred to a Toledo area hospital for further care, but never regained consciousness and later died at the hospital.
A coroner's report released after the child's death showed head trauma and evidence of past abuse. Police began investigation the death as a homicide on April 4.
Brenner was indicted on the charges by a Wood County grand jury Thursday. There is no information about how he was involved in the child's death at this time.
