Hancock County deputies say reported incident wasn't abduction attempt

FINDLAY, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - The Hancock County Sheriff's Department says the man they were told followed a young girl to her home Tuesday did not pose a threat to her.

They had a description of the man and were able to track him down. Deputies say he suffers from Alzheimer's Disease and may have thought the girl was his own grand daughter.

Deputies were called to Dold Drive near Liberty Benton High School just before 5 p.m. Tuesday after a girl reported a suspicious man began following her, and eventually chased her. She reported that she was able to get away without being harmed.
