Army Corps asking to enter Findlay residents’ property as part of flood study

FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) - The United States Army Corps of Engineers recently sent brochures to the owners of 280 pieces of land in Findlay as part of the Blanchard River Watershed Study.  The corps is asking for permission to enter their property to conduct surveys as part of phase two of the study.

The study is intended to determine the impact of any flood prevention measures the corps might take on area residents and the environment.

"The best available information is the information we can get by walking across that person's property, but there are public resources and public documents that can give a lot of the same information," said Project Manager Mike Pniewski. "You can also try to observe these properties from public rights of way or from the air."

Surveys will continue through December 31, 2013.  The study will be completed sometime in 2015.
