Toledo Police and Fire investigating car arson

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Toledo Police are looking for the person who torched several cars in a Toledo driveway. It happened last night in the 1700 block of Buckingham Street in central Toledo.

The Toledo Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene just before midnight, finding three cars on fire in a driveway. They were parked behind a home on Buckingham off an alley. The cars were charred and badly damaged.

Police are calling this a case of arson and are still looking for a suspect.

The homeowner said he has no idea who would do something like this. He said he used all the cars that were torched and it has caused a major inconvenience.

Neighbor Krys Murphy woke up to a big commotion.

"Fire trucks, police cars, dense smog, and the first thing I says is, 'Oh my God, the house is on fire!' But I looked at the house and everything, and it wasn't on fire, so I says, 'Lord, what happened?'" said Murphy.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information about what happened should call CrimeStopper at 419-255-1111.
