Penn National set to receive operating license to open Hollywood Casino

Penn National appears set to receive its operating license to open Hollywood Casino Toledo.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Barring any last minute problems surfacing between now and Wednesday when the Ohio Casino Control Commission meets, Penn National appears set to receive its operating license to open Hollywood Casino Toledo.

The company made its case to the commission last week, and OCCC Member Peter Silverman says all signs are currently pointing to the license being granted and an opening date being set:

"The report on Penn National came back clean. So as of now there are no serious questions as to Penn's fitness for the license. They hope to have a controlled opening on May 24, and their grand opening is set for May 29".

The commission meets Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Columbus.

Silverman says moving forward the commission will be busy checking up on casino employees, the games, the accounting practices and being proactive looking for signs of problem gambling.
