TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Closing-time chaos broke out in front of a Toledo bar early Sunday morning with police using PepperBalls to disperse a crowd. Then, police said someone gunned her vehicle in their direction.

It happened in the parking lot of Big'z Bar on Sylvania Avenue in west Toledo.

Bouncers threw out several customers for fighting around 2 a.m. Sunday. However, the group refused to leave. Toledo police were called and things escalated in the bar's parking lot.

Police fired PepperBalls at the group, causing people to disperse. While several officers were dealing with another group, they heard tires screech and saw a car speeding toward them from across the parking lot.

According to a police report, the car turned toward the officers and began accelerating. One officer had to jump out of the way. Police said the driver nearly struck other cars in the parking lot before taking off and running a red light on Sylvania.

Police eventually caught up and arrested the driver of the car, Ebony Harris, 29.

Harris appeared in court Monday morning on charges including felonious assault, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

"Any time you encounter the police, give them the due respect they do deserve. Sometimes we don't see that on a day-to-day basis. We're just trying to do our job out there," said Sgt. Patrick Skinner of the Toledo Police Department.

Harris remains locked up on a $125,000 bond. She is scheduled to be back in court Tuesday morning.
